Disney Blog Hop – Summer Fun

Welcome blog readers and writers! This week’s Disney Blog Hop theme is “Summer.”

We love summer around here…no alarm clocks, no school, no schedules, no bedtime. In addition to all the things that summer isn’t, we love the things that summer IS…warm weather, long days and lots of fun.

One of our favorite summer fun things is playing in the water. The pool is a great place to cool off of course, but so is the lawn sprinkler. This is where I bring Disney into our at-home summer fun.

Last year I found a really silly looking rubber Stitch lawn sprinkler at a garage sale. It seemed to be almost new and had a reasonable price tag of $2. It was cheap and it was Disney so I snatched it up and brought it home.

I’d never seen anything like it before so I was unsure of how to set it up. It was easy though. After inflation, it pretty much became self-explanatory.

It’s quite tall and looks like a rubber rocket with four long legs. A garden hose attaches to the bottom of one of the legs where a clear hose runs up to the base of the rocket. Here there are little hoses that wiggle around and spray water randomly. At the top of Stitch’s head, a spinning sprinkler is mounted.

It needs to be fully inflated to stand properly and during our first experience with it, Stitch would get the droopsies because his legs were a bit limp. For $2 though…can’t complain! I’ve seen these on ebay for $20 and it’s probably worth that but I’m glad I got mine much cheaper.

I know summer isn’t officially here yet, but no time like the present to get started on the fun. It always goes by too quickly!

How do you bring Disney into your summer fun?

I had no idea what it was when I first spotted it. Had to ask. Even then, I couldn’t imagine how a lump of plastic was going to become a lawn sprinkler. Happy Friday Deb!!

Kids toys are getting so creative lately! When I was a kid, we had a sprinkler ;) They look like they’re having so much fun with Stitch! Great pictures!

…and since you can deflate it, it doesn’t take up much storage space when not in use! ;o)
