Walt Disney World 101 – Value Resorts

Experienced Walt Disney World travelers know that you don’t need to spend a lot of money on a room if all you’re gonna do is sleep there. When you’re planning to spend most of your time playing in theme parks and you’d rather spend your money on things other than accommodations, the value resorts are a fun and affordable option.

Don’t worry about missing out on Disney Magic; these hotels are packed full of pixie dust!

THEMES
Elaborate themes with thorough attention to detail set Disney resorts apart from all others. Massive structures of endearing icons reside over the value resort properties. They’re a lot of fun to photograph and explore.

All Star Sports – Larger-than-life sports-related objects grace the grounds here. Surfing, basketball, tennis, baseball and football are the themes for the five different resort areas.

All Star Music – Each section of this resort represents a different music genre. Calypso, Jazz, 50’s Rock & Roll, Broadway and Country & Western icons make this colorful resort one of my absolute favorites.

All Star Movies – This resort is a favorite for families. The rooms are themed after classic animated films. The main, central section is Fantasia. You’ll find Toy Story and 101 Dalmatians nearby. Venture a little farther for Herbie, the Love Bug and Mighty Ducks.

Pop Century Resort – Pop culture from the latter half of the 20th century characterize this resort and each group of buildings represents a different decade.

Art of Animation – The sister resort of POP Century is Art of Animation. She’s the newest to the value resort family, cleverly themed to contemporary animated features Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid, Lion King and Cars.

ROOMS

Standard rooms with two double beds sleep up to four adults. A small vanity area is next to the bathroom. Mini-fridge included at no extra charge.

Family suites are available at Art of Animation and All Star Music. They sleep up to 6 adults and consist of a kitchenette, living room, bedroom and 2 bathrooms.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
Each Value resort offers a food court with numerous menu options to choose from. They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and can get quite busy at peak hours. If you’re interested in adult beverages, you can find them at the bar near the main pool and in the market area of the hotel gift shop. In-room pizza delivery is available as well.

LOCATION
The Value resorts are located at the south end of Disney property close to ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. All Star resorts are near Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach. Pop Century and Art of Animation aren’t far from Disney Springs, Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

RATES
Rates vary by season. A standard room costs somewhere between $99/night and $189/night. Suites run from $252/night to $557/night. (2018)

TRANSPORTATION
All Value resorts provide free bus transportation to and from the parks and if you’re bringing a car, it is possible to park very near some of the rooms. Ask for a room near a parking lot if this is important to you.

RECREATION
Every Value resort provides pools, arcades, movie nights and playgrounds. When weather permits, cast members lead guests in afternoon poolside games and activities. Evenings, they oversee campfires.

Nice report. I’ve always preferred the values- feel more at home there. Don’t dare even touch anything at the fancy places! :)

Thanks, Jud! I’m attempting to put together a series of articles that will help me help others. I get asked the same Disney questions often. With this series, I can just send links instead of coming up with new responses each time.
And I agree…there’s something very special about the Values. Warm and welcoming.
