Welcome blog readers and writers! This week’s theme is “Under the Sea.”

When I pondered my hop post for this week…The Seas with Nemo and Friends immediately popped into my head. My family visits this Future World pavilion each and every trip and we usually end up spending a lot of time there.

My older kids could care less really, because they’ve been so many times in the past. My youngest children however, would be happy spending most of the day there.

Typically, we start our Seas adventure through the entrance to the “clam ride”. You really have to be a crab not to like this attraction. It’s a great escape from the sun and the heat…just as you might expect from an underwater attraction.

It’s a slow-moving dark ride…a short and sweet journey through the depths of the sea to find Nemo. You meet many of his friends along the way…a mix of both animated and live aquarium fishes.

After exiting our Clamobile, the kids roam freely and I follow along. The large aquariums are the biggest hit with my little ones. They run excitedly from window to window taking in all there is to see. We especially love the dolphins and manatees.

My two youngest have no knowledge of Turtle Talk with Crush. I always steer them away from it. I had a bad experience there back when it first opened and I’ve not yet been interested in returning. I was pregnant at the time and got stuck sitting on the floor in front with all the kids. They crammed as many of us as they could inside the tiny theater.

With a baby in my belly and a toddler on my lap, I became extremely uncomfortable fast. I thought my legs might never work again and could not wait for the show to be over. The kids all seemed to like the show immensely and it was cute…but NO amount of cute was worth the discomfort I was feeling. I would have stood up and left, but I didn’t want to disrupt the show by leaving early. I guess I really should give it another try though…perhaps on my next visit.

Bruce’s SharkWorld is another hit with little ones. There are numerous facts about sharks and fun hands-on games and quizzes too. Don’t forget to get your photo with/inside Bruce.

Investigating marine life in the Seas pavilion is a fun way to educate yourself and the kids about the big blue world. I can’t imagine making a visit to EPCOT without stopping in.
