I prepared treats a day ahead and cleaned house as much as the three year-old would allow me. Decorating began first thing party morning. While the boys were off on a balloon run, I finished tending to details.

I still had my cake to decorate so I iced it hurriedly. It was cute enough, but looked obviously rushed. The treat table was adorned with a ceramic castle, a magic wand, balloons, Walt Disney World celebration buttons and Keys to the World cards from past trips.

As usual, I was preparing for the party right down to the last minute, then my guests started to arrive. One family was especially anxious to attend as they were seven days away from their first ever trip to Walt Disney World. They were the first to show up.

The Disney Vacation Planning DVD played on my television. A vacation slideshow with photos from my past Disney trips displayed on the laptop on the gift and game table.

Here, I decorated with streamers, a giant plush Mickey, more balloons and a large beautiful planter of brightly colored red impatiens, yellow violas and blue lobelia flowers. I scattered the confetti from the party kit with some genuine Main Street pixie dust around the table top. My favorite Mickey Mouse cookie jar acted as centerpiece on a third table.

My guests and I discussed all things Disney and other things Relay for Life. Everyone filled up on sweets and had a wonderful time talking.

The treat bags and Mickey crispie treats were a big hit but I completely forgot about the games I had planned. I can be such a scattered hostess sometimes, trying to do everything at once while socializing too. I usually require a co-host of some sort for just this reason.

The kids were having fun with the balloons and just being together so they didn’t even notice my blunder (well…not until after the party). No matter…the games will be put to use at future gatherings. I absolutely love the WDW bingo game!

I’m so happy and thankful to have been selected as a Big Red Box recipient.  The treat bags were very nice with a few truly unique items.  I would love to have seen sticker sheets or temporary tattoos in them too, but those are easy enough to add yourself.

In place of the napkins, which were a little on the boring side, I would rather have had party invitations included with the kit. A few party decorations would have been nice too. I only mention these as suggestions, not as complaints. I’m grateful to have received anything at all.

Aside from my pink canvas tote, I think the balloons were my favorite items in the box.  I know many other box recipients had problems inflating theirs, so perhaps a notice or instructions should have been included.  I did not have problems with mine on party day, but I did try blowing one up by mouth when my box first arrived and whoa, those ears are resistant!

Thank you Mickey Moms Club for allowing me to try out the In-Home Celebration kit. I enjoyed putting my party together with all that was included and was happy to share Disney magic with my guests.
