Without a Care in the World – Blanket Disclosure
Let this post be my disclosure…to apply to all my future Disney blogging, because I was that impressed. But let it also be said that I was “sold” on Disney before any of this ever happened so my view has been skewed from the start.
On January 8th, 5 Minutes for Mom announced a unique hybrid mom/family conference opportunity. Together with Resourceful Mommy Media, Mom Bloggers Club and Mom Select, they were co-hosting with Walt Disney World the first ever Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World Resort. I knew that I had to be there!
The conference fee of $350.00 included 3-nights deluxe accommodations at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort, four 7-day Park Hopper and Fun passes, three dinners and three private events including entertainment. This astounding offer is for the most part, unheard of and must definitely be considered a “sweetheart” deal. The venue was sold out within hours of open registration.
Oodles of SWAG was distributed each day of the conference. At registration, I received a reusable shopping bag containing a collapsible frisbee, SWEDA watch, travel backgammon, Picnic Time Sunshine Blanket Tote, and a post-it desk wallet with post-it pads, post-it tabs and 2-year calendar…all with the Walt Disney World Resort and/or the Social Media Moms Celebration logo.
The welcome bag also contained a Disney Parks Blog pin, Disney Parks Mickey Mouse watch, long sleeve Mickey Mouse jersey and a Mickey Mouse laptop case that fits my monster 17″ perfectly! We were given a voucher for one counter service meal on property, a $10 Disney gift card, $5 Build-a-Bear coupon and 1,000 Bear Bills. I received even more SWAG as the conference went on.
I received my credentials, itinerary and most importantly my FASTPASS Exchange Card. I was stunned. I couldn’t even go to the adjoining room and get my free chocolate. I wanted to dash out of there and share the news. I rushed back to my own room next door so I could jump and scream with excitement. What an incredible perk!
It was a fabulous conference, a wonderful week. I was entertained and educated by celebrities, enriched by gurus and their sharp intellect. I was motivated and inspired by the kind hearts of selfless volunteers and warmed by the open arms of fellow blogger moms. It was an experience I won’t soon forget.
You might be getting the idea that I was spoiled and there’s a good reason for that. I was. I’ve been deeply influenced and may never be the same but it’s all good!
This concludes my disclosure.
Hey girlie!
So glad I could be the person that told you about the conference!
Wasn’t it fun??? So hope they do it again next year!
It was the MOST fun and I really do hope it happens again!! Thanks again!
