So the lease is signed and house keys are in hand…we’ve reached another moving milestone. This adventure is still very scary. Aside from serious family health issues in the past, this is probably the most frightening thing that has ever happened to me. And if I’ve ever needed anxiety medication in my life, it’s right now!
What exactly am I scared of? There’s a lot to do here, and it doesn’t seem to be getting done. I try to sort and pack, but life keeps happening and I venture off course…to do daily chores and run errands, to feed people and to eat, to put out small fires, converse with visitors and then there’s the matter of sleeping.
My daughter is visiting from Chicago today. Having her here will be a big help. Then tomorrow, I’m driving her back home to Chicago and will spend some time with her up there.
Saturday, I’m taking some of my unwanted treasures over to my father’s for a garage sale. And I’ll need to get ready for a small surprise going-away slumber party for my soon-to-be 8 year-old on Monday.
And I still have an entire 4-bedroom house to organize and pack before I load up my U-Haul on the 15th. Oh snap. Scary fun…but I’m ready to get over the scary and move onto the fun! Mickey Mouse, here I come!!!
